RATES, PAYMENT OPTIONS & INSURANCE COVERAGE
AcuTherapy believes in the value of acupuncture for you and your family and have maintained a pricing structure that allows care for all budgets.
We continually strive to maintain a balance between offering reasonable rates and providing the highest quality of care possible. We never have any hidden fees, and we are always upfront and clear by publishing our fees. Please call us to schedule your appointment: (617) 694-9415. We don't want the bill to be the pain that stops you from coming for acupuncture!
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to make time available for others patients in need of care. If you cancel an appointment without providing 24 hours notice you may be required to pay the normal cost of that appointment.

How does it work? Pick up referral cards the next time you visit the clinic. Write your name on the back and give them to friends.
For every referral card that comes back to the clinic with your name on it, you will receive $10.00 off a treatment!
Your referral will receive 20% off their initial consultation and treatment when they present the card at their appointment.

AcuTherapy accepts Cash, Credit/Debit Card, Personal Checks and Apple Pay. Full payment is expected at the time of each visit. Additionally, acupuncture is considered a qualifying medical expense under most Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Saving Account (HSA) plans. Contact your plan to see if acupuncture qualifies.
INSURANCE COVERAGE OF ACUPUNCTURE AND CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE
Currently, I am a provider with Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and am able to directly bill. Once your deductible has been met, if you have one, all you pay is your co-pay which is expected at the time of your visit. For other insurances (i.e. Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, etc.), we are more than happy to provide you with any paperwork necessary to help ease the process for them to reimburse you.
Check with your insurance company directly to find out if acupuncture is covered (Member Services number on the back of your insurance card); as alternative forms of treatment may not be included in your plan. Here is a guideline to assist you in gathering the information needed to determine coverage:
Does my plan cover acupuncture? (And if so, will it cover my condition?)
How many acupuncture treatments (per calendar year) will my plan cover?
Does my plan require an MD to perform the acupuncture or do I need a referral from a primary care physician?
Does my plan require pre-authorization before treatment?
Does my plan require re-authorization after a specific number of treatments?
What is the phone, fax or address that I should send reports, authorization requests and claims?
Is there an applicable deductible amount that applies to me? What is that amount?

If your insurance company does not cover Acupuncture, request that they do.
It is important to note that American Health Insurance carriers are NOT reimbursing the fee for Chinese herbal medicine nor cosmetic acupuncture and will not cover the fees of prepaid packages. If the intention is to submit receipts, it will be necessary to pay for individual sessions or submit receipts once the series is complete.
DOES MEDICARE COVER ACUPUNCTURE?
Some Medicare plans are beginning to cover acupuncture treatments. Many primary carriers and secondary carriers do provide acupuncture benefits. Please confirm your coverage...
