Rates, Payment Options & Insurance Coverage
AcuTherapy believes in the value of acupuncture for you and your family and have maintained a pricing structure that allows care for all budgets.
I continually strive to maintain a balance between offering reasonable rates and providing the highest quality of care possible. I never have any hidden fees, and am always upfront and clear by publishing them. Having a hardship, please reach out to me. I don't want the bill to be the pain that stops you from coming for acupuncture!
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance. This allows me to make time available for others patients in need of care. If you cancel an appointment without providing 24 hours notice you may be required to pay the normal cost of that appointment.
To honor your service to our country, please accept a 20% discount off EVERY treatment. Thank you for your service. Thank you for keeping us all safe.

Insurance Coverage of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine
Currently, most health insurance plans are covering acupuncture. Check with your insurance provider directly to find out if acupuncture is covered under your plan. I am more than willing to help you if I can. Here is a guideline to assist you in gathering the information needed to determine coverage:
Does my plan cover acupuncture? (And if so, will it cover my condition?)
How many acupuncture treatments (per calendar year) will my plan cover?
Does my plan require an MD to perform the acupuncture or do I need a referral from a primary care physician?
Does my plan require pre-authorization before treatment?
Does my plan require re-authorization after a specific number of treatments?
What is the phone, fax or address that I should send reports, authorization requests and claims?
Is there an applicable deductible amount that applies to me? What is that amount?

If your insurance provider does not cover Acupuncture, request that they do.
It is important to note that American Health Insurance carriers are NOT reimbursing the fee for Chinese herbal medicine nor cosmetic acupuncture and will not cover the fees of prepaid packages. If the intention is to submit receipts, it will be necessary to pay for individual sessions or submit receipts once the series is complete.
Does Medicare cover Acupuncture?
Beginning in 2020, Acupuncture IS a covered benefit under the US Medicare system, however, the treatment must be performed by a physician who is also a licensed acupuncturist by the Board of Medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or by an acupuncturist who works out a physician's office. Neither is applicable to AcuTherapy at this time.
